Hi  kids-

So I’ve marched on Washington in support of Soviet Jewry in the 80’s.  Raised money to airlift Ethiopians to Israel during times of famine.  Sold candy to raise money to renovate The Statue Of Liberty.  I’ve signed petitions to save my high school and to save Arrested Development from getting canceled.  I’ve raised money for March Of Dimes and Habitat For Humanity.  I’ve bought music to save the rainforest, the whales, aid the Special Olympics, AIDS charities, Chernobyl and Darfur.  I’ve traveled great lengths learning about the current crisis in Africa…you have noooooo idea.  I’ve been inspi(red) to send text messages and post cards and to want to build a well in Africa.  I’ve learned the economic and world impact of the dire plight Africans and the world are faced with today.  I have a million rubber bracelets in various colors.  I’ve also successfully established my very own campaign to achieve World Hair Peace.

It is with great pleasure I announce my new cause…

To broaden the promotion and advancement of the up and coming British band Fiction Plane in the hopes of attaining their ultimate rock supremacy.

They are an excellent band and should be heard.  Today we live in uncertain times bound by the shackles of an oppressive political regime.  But there may be hope in the coming year.  Hope of a new, kind and peaceful administration.  Hope that we will be immersed in high-quality music with strong rhythm and brilliant lyrics.

With this I implore you to listen to the music of Fiction Plane (whom I saw open for The Police in Cleveland last night).

Viva Las Vegas!

It was ten years ago today that I was fortunate enough to attend the opening concert of U2's Pop Mart tour in Las Vegas.  This show marked the beginning of the most amazing year of my life...so far.  Those misty water-color memories are some of my most cherished.  I really really miss my friends today.

This was a less than flawless show.  Ha ha ha.  Wait...still laughing.  This was an extremely flawed show but none of us cared a bit.  By some miracle we ended up conning our way to the end of the b-stage just as boom-cha the lights went down.  We were very happy girls that night.

I fondly remember many insane escapades that occurred during this trip.  Holy bat convertible Patty!  Large flies.  Theft in a casino parking garage.  Irma's surprise when the Bono on her t-shirt was staring back at her in the rest stop mirror.  Any others?  Man, those were some good times.

It was 20 years ago today...

Twenty years ago today U2's Joshua Tree was released.  Twenty years!  It seriously seems like it was just a few years ago.  Time flies when you're having fun.  I feel like I'm about 200 now.  TWENTY YEARS!

Oh yeah...

I'm going to see The Police in Cleveland.  HOLY CRAP!

In the locust wind...

So I was talking to Will last night about The Police reunion and The Grammy's etc...  And he mentioned that when I got my drivers license the only thing I ever listened to was Rattle And Hum.  This puzzled me for a few seconds...I've always loved that album but can't imagine why I would have played it constantly...until it hit me...when I got my drivers license Rattle And Hum was the NEW U2 album.  That realization made me laugh really hard until I also realized that made me pretty old.

I also started thinking...What's Bono got against the sky?  He has like a million lyrics about somehow permeating the sky.

There are a ton of nice references to sky (i.e. I'll cross the sky for your love).  These are just the painful ones.  What's up with that?  Interesting.
